The Dauphin County Technical School will offer its Summer Career Camp on June 13, 14, and 15, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The camp is free to all current 6th and 7th grade students from Dauphin County public schools. Students from DCTS consortium districts (Central Dauphin, Derry Township, Halifax, Lower Dauphin, Middletown Area, and Susquehanna Township) have priority over non-consortium applicants provided registration deadlines are met.
Summer Career Camp is designed to introduce students to a variety of career options through engaging and authentic activities. Career Programs include: Building Construction Technology, Carpentry, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Diesel Technology, Drafting and Design Technology, Dental Assistant, Electronics-Robotics, Electrical Construction and Maintenance, HVAC, Medical Assisting, Precision Machining, Small Engine Equipment, Technology, and Web Development and Design.
New this year: The Halifax Wildcat Education Foundation is providing free transportation to Halifax students accepted by DCTS to attend the Summer Career Camp. The first nine students expressing a need for the service will be guaranteed transportation to and from DCTS all three days. (Departing from and returning to the Halifax MS/HS each day).
