Position Type: A part-time position whose primary function is the health and safety of student-athletes. The Athletic Trainer is responsible for game-day coverages of after school athletic activities; maintaining the athletic training room; assisting with injury prevention; effective communication with coaches, athletes, parents, and the athletic administrator; willing to educate coaches and parents on best practices for managing athlete safety, and assisting the Athletic Administrator with the athletic training budget, reviewing the Emergency Action Plan for After School Activities, and game management tasks as needed. The Athletic Trainer will report directly to the Athletic Administrator.
Location: The Athletic Trainer will be paid on an hourly basis at a negotiated competitive rate as approved by the Business Manager and School Board. Expected working hours are after school home events, Saturday home events, away varsity football games, and playoff games as determined by the Athletic Administrator. Practice coverage will be optional based on the Athletic Trainer’s availability and need.
Requirements: Applicants must have appropriate education, training, certifications, and experience to properly prevent, evaluate, and care for athletic injuries. Preferred qualifications include an active Pennsylvania State Athletic Training License, an active National Athletic Trainers Association Certificate, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training or related field. Applicants with related experience such as Physical Therapy, Physician’s Assistant, Nursing, EMS, etc. will also be considered.
